Battle Building
Working hand-in-hand with the general contractor, owner, architect, and development team, Gropen supported the fabrication and installation of a comprehensive signage and donor recognition system for the Battle Building at UVA Children’s Hospital.
The project included code-required signage using an easily updateable system with custom glass backers, designed to align with and complement the building’s architectural glass elements. Gropen also collaborated with the AV partner on a digital signage package, fabricating a custom freestanding kiosk to house monitors and digital signage components with clear access for future servicing.
In advance of opening ceremonies, Gropen coordinated schedules and lead times to ensure accurate and timely installation of donor recognition elements. The completed scope included wayfinding signage, experiential graphic elements, and an interactive spinner wall, all thoughtfully integrated into the hospital environment to support clear navigation, meaningful donor recognition, and a welcoming visitor experience.
